Getting Started in Tidy Up Together

From the Steam demo to a finished first shop without wasting the slow coin drip.

Getting Started

Tidy Up Together is a cozy first-person organizing sim that released on Steam for Windows on 14 August 2026. Malum Games built it as a shop-restoration puzzle: an evil wizard casts a tornado, thousands of products hit the floor, and you put them back. There is no game over. There is no forced clock on a normal clear. You can stop, save, and return. The only pressure is the optional time-challenge achievements and the size of the later shops.

This page is the first-evening route. It assumes you have not finished the Wyrmling Shop yet. If you already know the loop, skip to how to play or the Wyrmling walkthrough. If you are still deciding whether to buy, read the demo guide and the review first.

Before you spend

The store page includes a free demo (Steam app 5006000). That demo is not a chopped slice of Wyrmling. It is its own completable shop with a reduced item count and only three product categories. Use it to test three things that launch reviews keep mentioning: pickup feel, placement feel, and whether the green matching silhouette is enough of a puzzle for you.

Minimum specs are modest on paper (Windows 10 64-bit, an older 2 GB GPU, 4 GB RAM, DirectX 12, 8 GB of disk). Recommended specs jump hard to an RTX 2070-class card and 8 GB of RAM. If you are on a laptop iGPU, try the demo before you buy. The system requirements page lists both columns.

The client is English only. Full audio and subtitles are English. This wiki is translated; the game is not.

Your first hour in the full game

Buy or redeem the full game, then customize a character. Outfits and outfit colours are cosmetic. They do not change carry size. Details are on the outfits page. After that, enter the Wyrmling Shop. Steam markets this floor at about 650 items. One detailed launch review counted closer to 291 on the smallest stage. Treat the official number as the store-page claim and the player count as a community check. Either way, Wyrmling is the teaching floor.

The loop is simple to say and slightly fussy to do:

  1. Walk the wreckage and pick up products.
  2. Carry a stack that your current upgrades allow.
  3. Find a shelf that already holds the same kind of product, or a valid empty run for that type.
  4. Watch for a green silhouette when a match is legal.
  5. Place, then repeat until the floor is empty.

You cannot fail a placement in the way some rival tidy games punish you. Several launch reviews say that is the whole personality of the design: you will not brick a shelf by putting sushi next to a greatsword. The puzzle is navigation, recognition, and stamina, not a hidden planogram. If that sounds too easy, read the review before you commit to Leviathan.

Pickup and place hitboxes are tighter than some players like. If you keep missing a bottle on the floor, crouch your aim, drop the stack with the documented drop action, and try again. The controls page explains keyboard versus controller without inventing keys the store page never listed.

First skill, then a decision

Coins arrive about every two percent of shop progress, not every completed shelf. That is slower than many players expect. Your first unlock is the First Skill Unlocked achievement. Spend that first point on something that reduces walking or hunting, not on a novelty. The upgrade order page ranks highlight and auto-grab above luxury toys because launch players say those two actually exist and matter.

After Wyrmling is tidy you have three optional dares:

Then stop and decide how you want to play Dragon. Solo is valid. Online co-op is the feature Malum Games is selling. If you have even one friend who likes organizing games, send the multiplayer page before you open the mid shop. Dragon is where the slow coin drip starts to feel like a design, not a tutorial.

What not to do on night one

Do not open the Leviathan Store as a flex. Launch players describe it as a friendship test with a 20-hour time-challenge badge. Do not spend early coins trying to recreate auto-shelf from other tidy-up games. Reviewers who came from that genre say this title does not have auto-shelf. Do not hunt redeem codes. There are none.

Do use the shop checklist if you like ticking boxes, and keep the Items Hub nearby if you cannot tell a pastry crate from a potion crate in the wreckage.

The video in the middle of this page is a real long-play of this Steam release, not a trailer from a similarly named mall game. Watch it if you want to see the loop before you tidy your own floor.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Should I play the Tidy Up Together demo before buying?

Yes if you are unsure about hitboxes or the easy placement rules. The demo is a unique smaller shop, not a locked Wyrmling.

How long is the first shop?

Steam calls Wyrmling the small floor (about 650 items officially). A launch review counted about 291. Either way it is the short teaching stage.

Is there a game over if I tidy slowly?

No. Normal clears have no fail state. Time challenges are optional achievements with their own clocks.

When should I invite friends?

Any time. The feature is online co-op with as many friends as you like. It becomes important on Dragon and almost required for a sane Leviathan run.
